 Real Life Drama....


1. 60 DAYS IN (2016)

What is it? - Consisting of 6 seasons, this show focuses on everyday ordinary people  going undercover in the one of the USA's toughest prisons in order to help eradicate  the very present problems of gangs and drugs in the prison. But will 60 days in jail be  enough time to identify the issues...or will they become so insane that they begin to  participate in the illegal activities with the other inmates?

Where to watch? - Season 1 and 2 of '6o days in' are available to watch on Netflix,  however the remaining series have not yet been added. Not to worry though! All 6  seasons are available to watch with a subscription on Amazon. Users will have to sign  up for a 7 day free service for the channel but rest assured you can binge watch   all 6 seasons in the whole 7 days!

Worth the watch? -
  • I cannot recommend this show enough, from the first season my attention was captured immediately and it was held the hole way through the 6 seasons.
  • It is so interesting to see how normal day people cope with life in prison, as well as how the jail is affecting the other inmates.
  • Throughout the seasons there is a range of different personalities, all from different professions who enter the prison, all having different and sometimes lifechanging experiences. 


2. THE SIMPLE LIFE (2003-2007)

What is it? - When childhood friends Paris and Nicole Hilton movie in with a family in the small town of Altus in Arkansas, they struggle to adapt to their new environment, soon  seeing how the middle class live. A real change from their usual lavish lifestyle..

Where to watch? - Any amazon prime members can watch the first 4 seasons of the show  for free through Prime Video! Non Prime users can find the full series on Youtube  (free of charge) using the link below, however, I will warn you it is on a very small  screen!

Worth the watch? - 
  • This 5 season reality show will have you laughing for hours!
  • It is so interesting to see these 2 girls go from such lavish lifestyles to living with the everyday average family!
  • They definitely were partners in crime throughout the majority of the show, providing for real quality entertainment!
  • It is really nice to see them grow and mature throughout the 5 seasons, with them learning new lessons everyday.

3. ANGELS OF THE NORTH (2019)

What is it? - On a short description needed really! This entertaining TV series focuses on the hectic lives of 5 talented salon girls.

Where to watch? - This series is available to watch free of charge on BBC iPlayer. All readers have to do is sign up for a free account and watch away!

IMDb Rating - 5.6 out of 10 

Worth the watch? -
  • Only recently watched this show after coming across it on BBC iPlayer and it was such a good watch.
  • It is so nice to see the relationship that these girls have formed with each other, and how welcoming they are of one and other.
  • Displays the ins and outs of the salon that we all been dying to know.
  • Despite the current challenges being thrown their way, the girls showed us never to give up on our dreams!

4. GEORDIE SHORE (2011-Present)

What is it? - This show follows the lives of a group of young men and women, who spend their time experiencing both the highs, and the lows, of the party live in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Each series sees challenges with friendship and lovers, and you can always almost expect an argument! Every series new members enter the house, often causing a stir...

Where to watch? - Good news! Geordie is available on nearly every TV service, from Sky to Virgin Media, and NOW TV completely free of charge. Anyone without access to these can find episodes on both Youtube and Dailymotion. Prime Video users also have access to series 11 through to 19 free of charge, however the first 10 series do come at a price.

IMDb Rating - 5.2 out of 10

Worth the watch? -
  • This is definitely a love or hate show. There certainly will be some mixed reviews based on the lifestyle of these individuals but different generations do often clash.
  • If you're a sucker for a good argument, then this show is absolutely filled with them!
  • Over the course of the 21 seasons, it is really interesting to see how these young people develop to be the best version of themselves.

5. GOGGLEBOX (2013-2020)

What is it? - Finishing off the blogs with this one for all of you who are always looking for more to watch! This hilarious show focuses on families from across the UK who, every week, sit in their homes sharing their passionate, hilarious, and sometimes emotional critiques of the week's top or biggest and best shows on the telly.

Where to watch? - Gogglebox consists of 16 seasons, however, unfortunately the first 7 seasons have now been removed from TV. Not to worry though! Series 7 through to 16 are available for anyone to watch for free on Channel 4! Netflix users can also find Seasons 9 through to 12 on the site.

IMDb Rating - 6.9 out of 10

Worth the watch? -
  • If you need cheering up or fancy a wee cry this is 100% the show for you! You will likely go through a range of emotions just watching one episode.
  • With so many different age groups, genders, ethnicities, you will likely find someone you relate to!
  • If you're ever looking for new movies or shows to watch (after readings these blog of course!), Gogglebox will most definitely give you a few suggestions.

Cringe with Comedy...

 Because everyone needs a good laugh....   1. 21 JUMP STREET (2012)                 (Image Credit: GIPHY) What is it? - This movie is based on 2 high school classmates, who both end up being amateur cops in the police force. In order to bust a drug ring, they go undercover as  students, with only their high school experience to go by. 2 hours of pure laughter! Where to watch? - Good News!
